OUR COLLEGE EXAMINATION

(1) College examinations are very important for students. On no account the college examinations should be avoided. A student must appear for the following examinations.
(2) There shall be three Quarter End Examinations and one Annual Examinations for class XI (+2 1 st year class) of Higher Secondary Course. The First Quarter End Examination will be held in 2 nd week of November, Second Quarter End during 2 nd week of January, Third Quarter End Examination before the 3 rd week of March and the Annual examination will be held before 1 st week of May.
(3) There shall be three Quarter End Examinations for class XII (+2 2 nd year) of Higher Secondary course. The First Quarter End Examination will be held in 2 nd / 3 rd week of September, Second Quarter End 2 nd /3 rd week of November, Third Quarter End Examination before the 1 st week of January. The date of Annual H.S. Examination is notified by CHSE, Odisha.
(4) Every student is required to appear at all these examinations, in order to earn his progress certificate. However Annual examination is compulsory.
(5) Non appearance of any examination, whole or part, will make a student liable for payment of fine, as decided by the Staff Council Meeting.
(6) Application for exemption from appearing at the examination will not ordinarily be entertained. In exceptional cases application for exemption made by parents or guardians duly supported by a medical certificate in case of illness and endorsed by the mentor or proctor of the concerned student may be considered by the principal.
(7) Adoption of unfair means at college examinations is a serious offence and penalty shall be decided by Staff Council Meeting.
(8) A student may be fined / or expelled for infringing rules of examination discipline is decided by Staff Council Meeting.


COUNCIL EXAMINATION

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) conducts the examination called the Annual Examination in +2 Arts, Science and Commerce which is held in the month of March and the results are published in June-July. In addition to Annual examination, council also conducts an Instant Examination (from 1999) for those students who have failed in one or more subjects in the Annual examination but have secured 35% in the total marks or in the aggregate. The Instant examination is held in August-September.
Qualification for admission to the annual examination
1. Any registered student of the council may be admitted to the annual examination in +2 Arts, science and commerce courses, if he /she has completed two academic years of regular course of study after passing the High School Certificate Examination in any affiliated institutions, recognised by CHSE on the subjects in which the candidate wishes to be examined in Board of Secondary Education of Orissa.
2. A student who takes up subject in which a practical course is prescribed shall have to produce a certificate from the Head of the institution to the effect that he has completed the prescribed practical course in that subject.
3. Qualification for admission to the Instant Examination- The following categories of students shall be permitted to appear at the instant examination.
(a) All failed candidates
(b) Candidates who were sent up to appear the Annual examination but were unable to appear.
(c) All private candidates who were registered for the Annual examination but could not appear.
(d) Candidates who were not sent up for Annual examination due to attendance short, provided that they have to attend classes to make up the attendance short.
(e) A candidate who has failed at the Higher Secondary Examination or having been registered for the examination fails to appear in the examination may be admitted to such examination on payment of the prescribed fee without further attending at lecturers.
(f) If a candidate wants to appear any subject for which practical examination is prescribed, he / she has to produce a certificate from the Head of the institution that he has attended practical classes at least one month before the commencement of the examination at which he is to appear.
(g) No candidate shall be permitted to appear the instant examination in any subject which he had not appeared at the preceding Annual examinations.
(i) However if a candidate is failed in either Theory or Practical paper / Project paper of a subject, then he/she has to appear in both theory and Practical / Project papers of the subject.
4. Pass Mark:
(a) The pass mark in theory and practical shall be 33% and 40% respectively. The pass mark in the aggregate shall be 35%.
(b) If a candidate has passed in the compulsory and optional subjects and also in the aggregate the marks if any which he obtains in excess of the minimum pass mark in the extra optional subject shall be added to his aggregate and the new aggregate so obtained shall determine his division and his place in the pass list.
5. Exemption from appearing a subject or more subjects:
If a candidate fails in one or more subjects in the Higher Secondary Examination but secures pass mark in the aggregate, he shall be exempted on application; from appearing again in that subject or group of subjects in which he / she has passed and the order of exemption shall remain valid for the next two consecutive examinations conducted by the council.
(i) That the student has to clear all the failed subjects at a time.
(ii) The failed student shall not be placed in any division.
