About Library

   The college library remains open from 10.30 A.m. to 4.30 P.m. on all working days and closed on Sundays and other public holidays. There are nearly 60,784 books and 1205 reference books in the library on different subjects. There is a lending library (Book Bank With 10,000 books) which lends text books to the students.

   Students willing to borrow books from the Book Bank are to deposit one sixth of its total cost in case of +2 stream and one fifth in case of +3 stream. There is a reading room for the students with one hundred seats. It is open from 10.30 A.m. to 5 P.M. on all working days with a lunch break of half an hour from 2 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.

   There is a separate section for periodicals. The library subscribes to the following daily newspapers.
- The Indian Express.
- The Statesman
- The Times of India
- The Samaj
- The Prajatantra
- The Pragatibadi
- The Samaya
- The Dharitri
- The Sambad

   The copies of the Statesman and The Samaj have been preserved from the year 1969. The special feature of the college library is the Indian Culture Section where books are kept on all religions and cultures. Some Honours Departments have their departmental libraries for their Honours Students.
